Advocacy and Advisory work
As a cultural awareness and inclusion specialist in women's healthcare, I bring a unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise to my advisory work. My perspective is shaped by my firsthand experience navigating maternity services as a migrant woman in the UK, combined with over eight years of dedicated service in the women's sector.
My work has focused on transforming healthcare experiences for disadvantaged and underserved women, particularly in maternity services. Drawing from my extensive background in the charity sector, I have developed deep insights into the complex challenges faced by migrant women, survivors of domestic abuse, and mothers navigating multiple disadvantages including involvement with social and criminal justice services.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in advocating for culturally sensitive and inclusive healthcare practices, with a particular emphasis on maternity services. My advisory work is enriched by my dual perspective – combining personal experience as a service user with professional expertise in supporting young migrant women, domestic abuse survivors, and pregnant women facing complex social circumstances.
